Major pentatonic scale for guitar
A pentatonic scale is made up of five notes per octave (penta = five). The major pentatonic scale is similar to major diatonic scale, but without the fourth and the seventh note. Ex: C major pentatonic consists of C, D, E, G, and A.
Intervals: 1--1--1½--1--1½
Chord fit: Major triads, 6th, 7th, 9th, 13th, maj7, add9





Another good thing for you to practice is to open How to play intervals on guitar fretboard lesson and try to understand the intervals used in major pentatonic scale. It also will improve your ability to find intervals on guitar fretboard.
